At HFX Reno, we provide complete home renovation services throughout Halifax, NS, and nearby communities. We work with homeowners from Bedford and Dartmouth to neighborhoods and communities across the HRM, taking care of renovations from the first idea through completion. We begin by discussing your needs, understanding how your space is used, identifying your priorities, and considering where your budget can make the greatest difference. Our estimates are presented clearly before work begins, and we maintain open communication throughout the project. We protect the areas around the work, keep the site organized, and work carefully to limit interruptions to your everyday routine. Our process is designed to keep the renovation straightforward, with clear timelines and regular updates.
We renovate basements, bathrooms, kitchens, garages, condos, backyard suites, and entire homes, and we also provide complete painting and flooring installation. Our work can include framing, insulation, flooring, lighting, storage, layouts, cabinets, countertops, showers, vanities, tile, fixtures, and finishing. Halifax properties can involve older foundations, compact layouts, and weather conditions that affect renovation work, and our local experience helps us know what to expect. Whether you need one room updated or a complete home renovation, we focus on dependable service, quality materials and craftsmanship, customized solutions, transparent communication, and results that make your home more comfortable and functional.

Services
Our team delivers kitchen design and renovation services with a structured process covering layout planning, materials, cabinetry, and installation. We take care with every cabinet adjustment so doors, drawers, and units are properly aligned and securely fitted. IKEA kitchen projects are also part of our service, with installation extending beyond assembly to include plumbing, electrical, and countertops.
A successful basement renovation requires more than adding walls and flooring. We prepare the space by examining moisture, foundation cracks, and existing conditions, then use appropriate insulation, drywall, and flooring for basement environments. Our crew handles framing, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and finishing, while keeping you informed about the schedule and any changes.
We provide a complete bathroom renovation process that keeps the project under one team from start to finish. Our installers handle demolition, plumbing, tiling, fixtures, lighting, waterproofing, and finishing while following a defined plan for layout and materials. Homeowners receive an upfront price, a realistic schedule, and a walkthrough at project completion.
We provide interior and exterior painting with thorough preparation before every coat. Our crew handles sanding, patching, priming, scraping, and taping to create a durable finish. Exterior products are selected to withstand Halifaxs salt air and damp winters, while interior paints are chosen for durability and finish. Clear pricing and timelines are provided before work begins.
Our flooring installation service covers the complete process, from preparing the subfloor to completing the final trim. We use experienced installers who remain involved throughout the project rather than relying on rotating subcontractors. Material selections consider moisture and temperature changes, while realistic scheduling allows for subfloor conditions, deliveries, and additional preparation when required.
Our condo renovation service covers both the construction work and the building requirements that come with shared living. We coordinate approvals, insurance documents, elevator use, renovation hours, and material restrictions before work begins. From demolition through the final walkthrough, the same crew handles the project while accounting for shared walls, hallways, floors, plumbing, and electrical systems.
A successful garage renovation requires more than clearing out old shelving and junk. We examine the slab, walls, and roof, correct structural issues, and install appropriate insulation and wiring before closing the space up. Our approach also considers storage, lighting, flooring, and layout, allowing smaller garages to remain functional and open without compromising the quality of the renovation.

We worked with HFX Reno for a kitchen install for our cabin in The Falls and it was the best experience - highly recommend. We're out of province and have had a LOT of trouble with trades and communication. OJ was a breath of fresh air - always proactive with his communication and when we ran into hiccups (as you always do) he communicated the issue and then came back with a solution. His quality of work is super high (he cares), he does what he says he is going to do when he says he's going to do it (super reliable). It even impressed my father who is almost never impressed. Don't hesitate - highly recommend HFX Reno!

I have used contractor O.J for few projects in my home. He build a new walls, installed IKEA kitchen, flooring and backsplash. He did a wonderful job. He is prompt and responsive. He will try to accommodate and give honest feedback all the time. He is one of the most reliable contractor I have worked with.
